Introduction to Halal Foodservice Industry course is designed to equip students with basic knowledge of foodservice industry, strengthened by the principles of Shariah law. Students also will be taught on the sources of Halal and haram in Islam, Malaysian Halal logo and certification schemes, related Malaysian Standards for food industry and the agencies involved in developing Malaysian Halal industry. This course also discussed the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030 in fulfilling the increasing demand for the domestic and global Halal market. Besides, the discussion on halal issues and challenges may enhance the student awareness and general knowledge towards Halal industry.
